How it Works

Our You Pick Gardens are self serve, except during our festivals and fall activities. We provide containers to pick into, scissors, and all instructions about how to cut flowers, how to care for your flowers, how to pay, etc. are on the board on the Flower Cart next to the garden.

Flowers We Grow

All of the varieties of flowers that we grow are specific cut flowers varieties. They’re bred to hold up longer in the vase than regular garden or wildflowers. We typically see at least one full week of vase life, with many varieties when well cared for lasting up to two weeks.

Summer Flowers

Some of the warm season flowers that we grow, usually blooming from mid June through frost, are: sunflowers, zinnias, crested and plumed celosia, a variety of amaranth, gomphrena, rudbeckia, ageratum, a variety of basils for filler, sweet annie, cosmos, & lisianthus.

Spring Flowers

We grow a variety of ‘cool flowers’, flowers that can be planted in the fall or late winter for spring blooms. Blooms often start in March and continue through June. Some varieties are daffodils, iris, allium, peonies, anemones, ranunculus, stock, orlaya, yarrow, snapdragons, bells of Ireland, false Queen Anne’s lace, bachelor’s buttons, straw flowers, persian cress, & dianthus.
